News footage of Watchmen's Dr Manhattan unearthed!

Dr. ManhattanArchival footage from the NBS Nightly News has been unearthed, paying tribute to Dr Manhattan of the Watchmen. The excerpt, which is taken from the March 11, 1970 edition of the popular news service, is a special feature presented by co-anchor Jim Sizemore in celebration of a decade under the influence of a "true American hero".

In an investigation of Manhattan's super powers, which include telekinesis and teleportation as well as the ability to manipulate matter at a subatomic level, the feature looks at his contribution to science and renewable energy, national defence and the space race, perfectly capturing the patriotic naivety of the American people toward their homegrown superhero at that time:

It's not often that a movie promotion breaks the tried and true mould (alt: tired and truly unimaginative mould), but that's not a criticism that can be levelled at this excellent Watchmen promotional campaign.

The more I see, the more I like.
