Extended director's cut of Watchmen on blu-ray and DVD

Excellent news for Watchmen fans. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers will release Zack Snyder's director's cut of Watchmen as a two disc blu-ray and DVD set on 2 July. The director's cut will include a massive 25 minutes of extra footage: scenes with the vigilante Rorschach, as well as the death sequence of a supporting character, Hollis Mason. The total running time for this new version will be 186 minutes.
Alan Moore's reportedly "unfilmable" Watchmen graphic novel proved to be anything but, becoming one of the best movies released this year so far. It should be intriguing to see the changes director Zach Snyder has made now that he doesn't have to adhere to the shorter running times and mainstream dumbing down studios usually prefer. I'll be picking up a copy as soon as it's released.
Other extra features include fan-essential featurettes, 11 Watchmen Making-Of Webisodes, and a music video. You can read our Watchmen review here.
