While the fourth Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, was a farcical, special effects mess, with more holes in the plot than a sieve and panned by critics and fans alike (it didn't stop them all going of course), it appears they're still planning to make another one. I guess with a box office take of US $786 million worldwide there's no reason not to (at least no financial reason anyway).
There were 19 years between Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but I'm guessing this one will be upon us much sooner. Harrison Ford is already 67 after all.
According to kansascity.com Harrison Ford, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are all interested. I hope that doesn't mean they were proud of the last one? Maybe they're so embarrassed they want to start all over again and make amends?
Apparently Shia LaBeouf, who played Indy’s son in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, told the BBC that Spielberg had “cracked the story” for part 5. I wonder if they'll be able to top the insanely unrealistic scene where Harrison Ford walks away from an atomic blast after flying through the air in a fridge? Perhaps he could get sucked into a black hole or something in a cardboard box?
