The first official teaser for Louis Leterrier's remake of Clash of the Titans has been released by Warner Bros. and despite my prejudice about remakes, I'm finally getting excited by this project. Recently having endured the original Clash of the Titans (1981) for the first time in two decades, there's no doubt in my mind that a remake is more than warranted in this case, and if the teaser is an accurate reflection of the movie, Leterrier's remake has all the hallmarks of a long-overdue kick-arse epic fantasy. The cast is outstanding with Sam Worthington as Perseus, Liam Neeson looking ferociously godlike as Zeus, Ralph Fiennes as Hades, Pete Postlethwaite, Mads Mikkelsen and Jason Flemyng amongst others.
The teaser is not long at just over a minute but it is a powerhouse 68 seconds of action and CGI at its best. And keep an eye out for Sam Worthington's Achilles moment (channelling Brad Pitt's Achilles from Wolfgang Petersen's Troy) toward the end.
Clash of the Titans has a 26 March 2010 release.
