Daybreakers: Ethan Hawke and Sam Neill are vampires with opposing viewpoints

I'm not a big fan of the Stephenie Meyer vampire series Twilight that has made such a massive splash both in film and book form; it features way too much teen romance and little in the way of original ideas for my liking. In contrast, a trailer for a new vampire movie called Daybreakers looks a great deal more impressive (apologies to any Twilight fans out there).
It's the year 2019, and a plague has transformed almost every human into a vampire. The remaining humans are hunted down and farmed for their blood. Without human blood, the vampires revert back into their pure (hideous) vampire form, something they desperately want to avoid.
Sam Neill (Charles Bromley) plays the head of a giant corporation which profits from this situation, as human blood is now the world's main food source. Ethan Hawke plays vampire Edward, a chief blood researcher who has some sympathies for the remaining humans. The film also stars Willem Dafoe who plays an outlaw, Elvis, one of the surviving humans. Faced with a dwindling human blood supply, one group of vampires desperately try to assure their own survival, while another group fight to revive the human race.Watch the trailer and clip below and let us know what you think. Looks like a winner to me.
Daybreakers will be in theatres 8 January 2010.
