First Clash of the Titans review positive

The Hollywood Reporter managed to get a sneak peak of the new Clash of the Titans fantasy epic starring Australian Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson, which is due out 2 April. While they said it struggled early on, they believe it "reaches back to the fantasy epics of old and forward into the digital future where the word 'unimaginable' no longer exists."

Warner Bros. they believe "should reap a worldwide whirlwind of box office lucre with this fanciful adventure." They call it a "fun digital ride through Greek mythology as humans clash with gods and monsters."

However, they believe there are two main non-fatal flaws: poor 3D implementation (it was transferred into 3D after it was filmed) and translating Mount Olympus and the council of the gods to the screen wasn't as good as it should have been. Regarding the latter, they report that: "It looks more like something one might encounter in Las Vegas with its fake Greek pillars and campy atmosphere. Indeed, Neeson's Zeus is outfitted in gleaming armour that shines worse than one of Liberace's jackets."

Not a glowing review, but certainly not a bad one either. Look out for our own Clash of the Titans review this week.
