The sequel to Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes now has a title and launch date. Considering how good the original was, the sequel can't come soon enough. Titled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the Fox produced sequel is scheduled to arrive 23 May, 2014. What's even better is that the original director, Rupert Wyatt, will be back along with actor Andy Serkis inside a motion-capture suit to play Caesar, the intelligent chimp that led the apes to revolt after years of genetic experimentation. You can read our review of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes here.
At the end of Rise, an airplane carried a deadly virus across the world with both James Franco's scientist character Will Rodman and Caesar surviving. What kind of state will the world will be in when the new film opens? How far will the disease spread and how will the apes take advantage of their newly won freedom?
2014 seems like a long time to wait, but at least it's coming.
