Iron Man 3 trailer: Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley join Robert Downey Jr.

iron3yeahIron Man 3 is on its way and if a recent trailer is any indication, it will be an excellent third chapter in Marvel's Iron Man series, assuming you don't consider Robert Downey Jr's role in the recent Avengers movie to be Part 3 already? Downey Jr. appeared to dominate The Avengers even though he was surrounded by numerous other great actors and characters.

So what happens in Part 3? What we know so far is that Shane Black is set to direct a screenplay he co-wrote with Drew Pearce. Along with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle returns as James Rhodes and the previous Iron Man 1 and 2 director Jon Favreau is back as Happy Hogan.

Australian actor Guy Pearce is a new edition, starring as Aldrich Killian. Killianis is the creator of the Extremis virus. Surprisingly, acting heavy weight Ben Kingsley has also joined the cast as the film's major villian, The Mandarian, the leader of an international terrorist organization. According to The Examiner, in the Iron Man comics, The Mandarian is a Chinese political exile who uncovers millennia-old starship wreckage and utilizes the ten rings which had previously powered the vessel.

According to Latino Review, the plot will also include "nanobots"

Iron Man 3's official plot summary doesn't give away much:

"In Marvel's Iron Man 3, brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr., is pitted against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?"

Fortunately, the trailer is a lot more revealing and looks very promising. Watch the trailer to Iron Man 3 on YouTube below. Another release to look out for. We expect Iron Man 3 to hit cinemas 3 May, 2013.
