Bill Murray now claims Ghostbusters 3 plans are just talk

Is Bill Murray joking? It's very hard to tell. He recently spoke to Cinema Blend about the new Ghostbusters 3 movie. We told you awhile back that everyone was on board for the third Ghostbusters instalment, including Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Murray (the original team), all signing on 21 years after Ghostbusters 2 was released in 1989. Reports indicated that the original director, Ivan Reitman, had plans to start shooting the picture in 2010.
"It's just a myth," Murray told Cinema Blend. "It's like the white alligator in the sewer, you know? Who's seen it, really?"
"It's just really the movie studio. They love the franchise; they'd just like to re-create it again. All this talk is just talk. It drives me nuts, it's just people talking. And now, it's like, on the street people go 'hey, hey, hey,' you know, why don't you go back to high school? Quit bothering me. Until someone actually creates a great script it's just hogwash, it doesn't mean anything. It's interesting that people are interested in it, they'd like to see it. It was a great thing, it really was fun. Maybe it should. And if it's such a good idea, then someone will write the screenplay."
Earlier Murray appeared on David lettermen, a US talk show, and suggested movie bosses were planning to "kill off" his character at the beginning of the third film, but now he claims this was a joke, Star Pulse reports.
"There was always this joke," he said. "Sort of a half-true, half-joke thing like, 'Well, I'll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.' That was my joke, you know?"
So is Ghostbusters 3 happening, or isn't it? And if it is, is Murray getting killed off in the first reel? Don't ask me. You probably shouldn't ask Bill Murray either.

Finally having had the opportunity to watch Nicholas Winding Refn’s Valhalla Rising, I now appreciate why it was received so well at film festivals and yet failed to get a wide theatrical release.
