A trailer for director Jon Favreau's Cowboys and Aliens has appeared in the US (part of a collection of new SF trailers shown during the US Super Bowl). Compared to the previous teaser, there's more action and a few close encounters with an alien spacecraft, including Daniel Craig leaping onto the wing of the spacecraft from a horse (as you do).

Cowboys and Aliens is about a town in the Wild West invaded by aliens. Craig plays Jake Lonergan, a man with no memory of his past, who must reconcile with former enemies to combat the alien threat.

Along for the ride are Harrison Ford (Col. Dolarhyde), Sam Rockwell, Adam Beach, Paul Dano, Noah Ringer, Clancy Brown and Olivia Wilde. Director Jon Favreau, you may already know, crafted the excellent comic book adaptations Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

Cowboys and Aliens arrives in theatres 29 July 2011.
