The World's End Part 3 of the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy

conesIf you thought Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were two of the funniest UK film comedies in years, you are in luck. The third part of their trilogy (?) called The World's End is on its way.

Pegg and Frost (with co-writer/director Edgar Wright) refer to the first two films as the first parts of their Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy or Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy. While I can't work out exactly how the first two films are related, apart from being extremely funny and very, very good, I really don't care. Anything they do is fine by me. Shaun of the Dead was a comedy zombie film with a twist and Hot Fuzz a cop thriller/murder mystery, a send up if you will of every cop/detective drama show ever made.

If you haven't watched either film, don't keep reading this, watch them now instead. I mean it. Off you go.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost will again star, with Edgar Wright directing and co-writing with Pegg as usual. A picture has turned up on Wright's Twitter page with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright in front of a white board with the words "Hard at work".

I know it's only a small bit of news, but fans take note!
