Makers of the upcoming sci-fi feature film The Phoenix Project will appear at this weekend’s Wondercon convention in Anaheim, Calif. Director Tyler Pavey, producer Mike Mo, and producer and starring actor Orson Ossman will attend the three-day festival to talk with fans and discuss and promote the film.

Many people know the work of Phillip K. Dick (“Blade Runner” “Total Recall”), but in recent years interest in his short stories have become increasingly popular. When director Shahab Zargari and his brother writer Shahram Zargari started searching for an intriguing story to base their new short film, sparks flew. What they found was a “lost” gem.  The Crystal Crypt was first published in the January 1952 edition of Planet Stories magazine. 
 
Announcing "Difficult Tales", an anthology webseries of short films of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. Created by filmmaker and sound artist Frank Difficult, the show will span psychedelic gothic horror, pop-art space action and Lovecraftian terrors. The project is currently being funded on Kickstarter.

So far the YA sci-fi novel Feedback has received five 5 star reviews, one 4 star, one 3.5 star, and one 3 star. Not bad for a novel still only available as an ebook, which the author D L Richardson admits can be difficult to sell. Her debut novel The Bird With The Broken Wing was released in print in October 2012 and the sales of the print book have blitzed ebook sales. Not surprising then that the author and her fans can’t wait for Feedback to be released by her publisher Etopia Press in print, which is due early 2013.

January 31st, 2013 - Waylines Magazine released the Digital Download edition of its inaugural issue. Featuring all the content from its Web Edition, the Digital Download includes two additional sections -- Screen Gems, a film review section, and Featured Film Maker,  interviews with up-and-coming film makers. On Saturday, January 26th, Jonathan Maberry will teach, "From Raw to Cooked: Professional Story Development" to help writers take an initial idea and develop it into a compelling framework for a novel. On June 15th, Morgan Keyes will lecture on, "The Business of Writing," going in-depth on vital aspects of the industry such as traditional versus self-publishing, the necessity and value of agents, the synopsis, specific market concerns for genre writers, and so on. And on September 21, Dr. Catherine Asaro will teach, "Using Science in Science Fiction," for those writers who want to learn how to successfully integrate believable science into their fiction.
