Shazam Brings Extraordinary Powers to Syfy Channel’s Alphas Fans

Shazamable moments stretch the capabilities of TV viewing with exclusive access to superhuman content!
Palo Alto, CA – July 8, 2011 - Shazam®, the world’s leading mobile discovery company, today announced Shazam for TV will be featured in Syfy’s new action-packed series, “Alphas,” which premieres Monday, July 11th, at 10PM/9PM C.
Following in the footsteps of Syfy's “Being Human” – the first Shazamable TV series – each episode of “Alphas” will feature Shazamable moments, giving viewers access to exclusive content not available anywhere else, including sneak peeks of upcoming episodes, playlists from the show’s soundtrack and wallpaper for mobile phones. Each week the wallpaper will be refreshed with exclusive imagery from the week’s episode, while also providing fans with access to archived wallpaper content.
Alphas follows a clandestine group of average citizens with amazing abilities operating within the U.S. Department of Defense and led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn (Temple Grandin, Good Night, and Good Luck).
The ensemble cast also stars Malik Yoba (New York Undercover, Why Did I Get Married?), Warren Christie (October Road), Azita Ghanizada (Castle), Ryan Cartwright (Mad Men,Bones) and Laura Mennell (Watchmen). Alphas is a production of Universal Cable Productions and BermanBraun Television. Executive Producers are Zak Penn, Ira Steven Behr (The 4400) and Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein for BermanBraun.
For consumers who don't yet have the Shazam application on their smartphone, it can be found on iTunes App Store, Android Market, AT&T’s AppCenter, Verizon VCast app store, the Ovi Store by Nokia, Windows Phone Marketplace, BlackBerry App World, and GetJar. The Shazam free App is available with five tags per month and Shazam Encore is priced at $4.99 for a 1-year subscription or a one-time fee of $5.99 on iOS; or a one-time fee of $4.99* on all other platforms.

After watching the pilot to Fox’s ambitious TV time travelling dinosaur fest called Terra Nova, I am praying that when I watch the next episode the entire cast gets eaten by dinosaurs (in fact, that hope is the only reason I’ll be able to sit through another one). No movie release in 2011 was more misunderstood and unfairly maligned as a result of misunderstanding than Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch. Odds are you’ll disagree with that statement.
