POINTLESS - In Production

POINTLESS is Group 13 Production’s second, full-length, feature film, written and directed by Julie Ufema. In this fictional, Sci-fi thriller the American recession has escalated into a modern day, crippling depression. Desperate times lead to desperate measures. The new world government implements a radical and controversial new health care point system rewarding healthy and morally upstanding lifestyles. The first ‘point generation’ was assigned a card to monitor their every move. The next generation was tagged with a chip, implanted at birth.
Two, head strong detectives must protect potentially devastating family secrets while working together to expose the corruption and illegitimacy of this new world order. How far will they go to protect the ones they love, when the system put in place to protect them is hurting them the most?
Group 13 recently wrapped on a second day of filming their next feature, POINTLESS, but has announced that after some additional fund-raising they will be able to finish the remainder of the film from May 9th through May 20th. The production companies’ first feature, CAVEAT, has recently earned them a coveted spot at the Stiletto Film Festival in Boston and they are in talks with several companies about potential distribution.
Starring Lindsay Goranson (The Theatre Bizarre), Bill Roddey (Caveat), Paul Garrett (Road Killer), Julie Ufema (Dead Man Working), and Jason Ufema, (Caveat).

After watching the pilot to Fox’s ambitious TV time travelling dinosaur fest called Terra Nova, I am praying that when I watch the next episode the entire cast gets eaten by dinosaurs (in fact, that hope is the only reason I’ll be able to sit through another one). Finally having had the opportunity to watch Nicholas Winding Refn’s Valhalla Rising, I now appreciate why it was received so well at film festivals and yet failed to get a wide theatrical release.
